Both headlights quit working at the same time...

Hi. I put a new front clip on my 91 Firebird some time ago. The headlight both raised and lowered fine on the other car and worked fine on my car. For a while. One night I turned the lights on, they raised up and never went back down. I have to manually raise and lower. Any ideas why they both quit working at the same time? I have run out of guesses. Thank you in advance

There's a big flat black box on the firewall, next to the wiper motor. It has two connectors on it. That's the headlight motor module. Try tapping on it with a screwdriver while turning your lights on and off. It could be just a bad contact.

If that doesn't help, you'd need to break out the test light and probe some of the wires on the connectors.

Let us know.

You said you put a new front clip on. That means alot of things got removed and bolted back up

Check your grounds. There should be two behind the headlights along the radiator support
