VATS PICTURE??

Ive lost the keys to my 92 rs and somebody tryed to steal it awhile back and mutalated the column took the ignition and everything out,,,soo i need a new column no matter what.and i need to move the car from where its at now....a buddy of mine told me im going to need to get the VATS unit from under the dash of the car i get the column from and replace both is this true???and does anybody have any picture so I know what im looking for?he said it is just plug and play im not trying to bypass anything..help would be greatly appreciated thanks

The box would be under the driver side dash i would presume. Other than that i would suggest going to radio shack and buying a few resistors and match the frequency if you know it from your old key and you never have to worry about vats again. If you dont know your code its one of the following

1 402
2 523
3 681
4 887
5 1130
6 1470
7 1870
8 2370
9 3010
10 3740
11 4750
12 6040
13 7500
14 9530
15 11800

So just go to radio shack and get the resistor pack (comes with almost every resistor) and just match em up to the values above (under/over 10 i belive) and with an trial and error setup keep trying til the security warning goes away. Also beware theres a 5 min lock out period if you wire up the wrong frequency.
