Wiring Harness

Hey everyone, this is my first post as of I just joined. I just picked up a 1984 Camaro Berllinetta. Its in very good shape except the interior, basically nothing really works. My idea was to put a newer Z28 interior in it, ex. the 92' interior. Because the dash board is cracked and the guages barely work, I was thinking I should get a Z28 wiring harness possibly but, I'm really running into a dead end hiw to convert the car. Does anyone know what I'm talking about or where I should start???

Re: Wiring Harness

Berlinetta means digital dash, so Z28 anything wont work with what you've got

If you swap the Z28s dash and electronics in, you should be fine, albeit a huge pile of work

Re: Wiring Harness

I know I have to get new guages and dash for the car. But I was wondering what type of wiring I need to get and for what parts, just the guage harness? Also like the speedometer is digital, what would I have to do to convert that, or is it just a speedometer cable?

Re: Wiring Harness

You will need the dash harness and cluster from the Z28 at minimum

The engine harness will have to be repinned to accept the new C100/C207 layout. Expect several runner wires to come with it and controls varied over the years

EX:
Berlinetta uses a VSS to send a signal to drive the speedo
Pre-90 camaros used a cable driven speedo
SD Camaros used an electric speedo
