88 trans am. Headlights come up with the headlight switch but do not do down I have to turn the knobs to get them back down. The headlight motors do not turn when headlight switch is turned off. HELP!!

Heck the Headlight Control Module on the drivers side firewall. The "down" side might have a bad contact inside.
When they won't go down, leave the switch off & try tapping/hitting on it. Mine used to go down but not up & a slight hit would make them come up. Or driving would cause enough shake to achieve the same thing. I just replaced the whole unit, since I had another one.
Thanks Stephen. Yeah I got a buddy with the same problem and he has to tap it to make it work. I found the problem like two minutes after I made the post. It was the white wire on the left side of the control module. It is suposed to send power to the unit when the lights are turned off. And it doesn't. Tomorrow I will take the headlight switch out and see if it is attached. Thanks again Stephen.
