I'm so lost...electrical guru's please help!!!

My car is an 87 Trans am, with a 350, TPI....I have a couple questions...first, what is this thing, where does it go and what does it do?? DSCN2493.jpg

2) I can't seem to find the connector for my MAT sensor, is it common for some ppl to not hook it up? Am I gonna run into serious issues if I don't hook it up?

Re: I'm so lost...electrical guru's please help!!!

The picture seems to show the oil pressure sender that's supposed to sit on top of the block, in the very far back, driver side. It plumbs into the oil passages and gives you a reading on the dash.

The MAT/IAT sensor uses a two-wire connector, tan wire and black wire. If it's not under the back of the upper intake manifold, check the back of the block, it sometimes falls off.

Hope this helps.
Lou
