Re: someone help!! fuel pump issue

Does the cam have a lobe for the fuel pump?Does the carb have a return line?Is the carb computer controlled?
IDK what pressure the old motor required but IIRC,most carbs use only about 5-7 pounds unless it's a hi-po motor or on alchy.
Mine uses a Holley carb & Holley blue elec pump w/regulator set @ 6 1/2 pounds.
I would think with too much pressure you would be flooding before not getting enough gas.Could be a pinched fuel line?..?

Re: someone help!! fuel pump issue

You will have to rig up a regulator and possibly a fuel
pump circuit in order to use the in-tank pump-when i
removed the crossfire injection from my car for
modification,i installed a q-jet in its place for use in the
meantime,q-jet would not handle the 15 or so psi the
C/F pump put out(pump for port injection puts out
about 50 psi),so just used a holley regulator. I left the
ecm hooked up when i had the temporary carb setup
on,so pump worked normally still(tach wire of ecm must
remain connected so ecm knows engine is running in
order for fuel pump to stay on with engine running)
CEL will be on but you can remove bulb if it is a
bother.
