knowing gm it should be possible does anyone know where i can get info on this

The answer is yes, but you have to replace the entire engine wiring harness, ECM, and add VATS or find a way to duplicate the signal running to the late model ECM. And that's the easy stuff before you have to repin a couple of large connectors.

I think some on here have been able to get away with replacing just the ECM, but I wanted a complete change, so that's the way I did it with my 3.1.

Dan is right, it is not a trivial change.
I would suggest searching the TPI board, many here have done it before, you should be able to find plenty of advice.

You will need good wiring diagrams and connector pinouts (especially C100, C207 and the ECM) so here: http://www.austinthirdgen.org/index.php?pid=19

ok i thought it would be an easy change over if i changed it over and id be saving some money and updating my car but if this is true ill just blow the money on a new maf sensor and be done with it thanks for the info
