Berlinetta AC/Wiper Control Pod Restoration Now Available !!
Do you have to mash the buttons hard and wiggle them to get everything to work? As long as the buttons have not been pushed so hard as to break them or to make them recess into the control face and the electronics are intact, I can restore feather touch function to the buttons. See the video I made after repairing mine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpiICtjmTdE

Thank you, but I don't need any luck. It's worked great all summer in my daily driver and I don't anticipate any issues in the future. If it shows any signs of deterioration I'll look into alternative solutions.
You have peaked my curiosity. As a potential customer lets say I send mine to you to have it repaired. What do you offer that makes it worth what you're asking to repair one of these? Are you replacing buttons, offering some kind of warranty or what?

As long as the buttons have not been pushed so hard as to break the mounting tabs on the back side of the pod face and as long as the electronics are intact I can refurbish it. I clean the back side of the foil buttons and the contacts on the circuit board using a method I perfected. I create a new foam pad from scratch to restore the buttons firmness and proximity to the contacts. Creating this pad is very time consuming but very important. Without it, the buttons wiggle and rattle. I also reinforce the mounting tabs so that they do not break off from normal use. As you can see by the video I made all the functions work with the lightest touch as they were intended. You don't have to press them twice and you don't have to press them hard. I also meticulously clean all the brown goo off the buttons and the circuit board before reassembling everything. All the lights work as well. Anyone who asks me to refurbish their pod will get theirs returned in full working order. If it fails within a reasonable amount of time say 6 months then I'll accept it back for a recheck. If I am at fault then I'll accept that and make it right. If the electronics fail then I cannot predict that.
The methods I use are my own. I imagined them from my own experiences. I tried several different methods until I came up with one that works. I offer no further explanations.
If anyone who has a fussy control pod wants to use your methods then I wish them well. Part of having a Berlinetta is the coolness of the controls. To have them restored to their original function was and still is exhilarating for me. I've lived with that stupid control pod for years and finally came up with a method to fix it. If anyone wants me to refurbish theirs then it is their option. The proof is the video.
I'm glad there is more than one solution available to Berlinetta owners. I hope that we both will let this issue rest.

Very well, if you are doing those additional things then it makes more sense. A warranty is also important on something like this. I had found a different reason for the rattle, but I agree that replacing the pad may be necessary. My initial post was to inspire others to fix theirs because I felt the same way, and if this is something you want to take on then more power to you.

To all who read this thread:
From this point forward please refer all requests for AC/Wiper control pods to "John in RI". We have reached an agreement and all control pods will be offered through his website. http://www.berlinetta.info/
Further inquiries will not receive a response.
