i have a 305 z28 and i just swapped cam's. now i have no spark from the coil. all my grounds are good that i know of. i have 4 on the passenger side head and 3 on the driver head. the 3 and 4 wire plug in the dist... the 2, 2 wire plugs in the coil. still no spark from coil. the coil is brand new. please help
You can't have both . I think you mean you have the hei cap with the coil on the top. If the coil is good ,I would say you either did not install the copper ground strap that is part of the coil the metal strap gets connected to the coils frame and is grounded through the connecter. Or you broke a wire somewhere in the connector wire back track the wires .Check your power going to the distributor at the connecter that says Batt. next to the tach connector..........
no....the hei module is inside the cap below the rotor. and the coil is mounted next to the dist on the outside...i checked the wires going to my starter, and they all have power. im not getting a pulse reading out of coil.
Then you have a external coil like I asked earlier. Do you have power going to coil ?Trace the wires from the coil connector plug (not the starter wires) something got knocked loose.........or broken connecter somewhere.........if you can't find the problem ,call a hook and get it to a mechanic...............
