What used to be here?

Hey gang, Took a good long look at the engine and noticed SOMETHING was done to it. I can't tell what though.

Take a look at the pics. On the passenger side of the engine compartment (closer to the windshield), there are a bunch of plugs that go into nothing, as well as a handful of wires that were just cut off. Whatever these things were connected to, it doesn't exist anymore. Aside from cleaning them up with some wire ties, it doesn't appear that the wires serve any functional purpose to the car. So I'm just curious - what typically goes into this area of the engine bay (88 Trans AM).

Thanks gang!

Re: What used to be here?

Looks like one used to go to your water temp sensor and one to your oil temp sensor.

Re: What used to be here?

Hmmm. OK...that helps. A few follow-ups then:

A) The digital dash DOES have (what seems to be) a functional oil temp sensor. Wrong wire?

B) Should I be concerned that these things are no longer connected?

THANKS AGAIN!

If you haven't had problems and things seems fine. then no. they are probably redundant or changed over.

In the engine bay, air conditioning was there - there are several wires that connect to the A/C system to sense pressure - that's what's mising. Oil Pressure and Coolant Temp are both on driver side... nothing to worry about other than you don't have A/C.

Under the engine bay - you are missing the 12 bottles of Corona that go into that white box with the blue and yellow lettering, and a few limes that accompany them. THIS is a MAJOR concern!!! You can't possibly accomplish any further repairs or modifications without these!!! SEEK HELP IMMEDIATELY!!!
