Ok, its been like this for awhile, and im just wondering what it is. Im thinking it might be the intermittent for the windshield wipers. here are some pics of the wire.

I'll take a look at mine at the shop today and see if I can find it. I have an '88 T/A 305 TPI, so it might be there. Unfortunately the car is at my shop and not my house or I could have looked right away...Ill let you know what I find tonight.
pink/black - black usually pink/black is an ignition switched source. Used for many things like the air diverter valve, EGR solenoid, and so one. Also the AC comp. relay gets power from a pink/black. i assume you can't find the other side that goes onto the connector?
Do all your injectors have wires to them? Pink/Black can also be injectors according to my Haynes book. I'm no expert on the TPI - but it does not look like an injector connector - but I thought I'd throw it out there as something to check.
Sorry, I took a look this morning and no dice for a match on my car. If it belongs in that area for sure, maybe it's for something emissions related and that's why it doesn't seem to be affecting anything. Maybe for a gauge sender or something, the connector looks kind of odd...like emissions or wipers or cruise or something along the lines of not so critical :-p Sorry I couldn't find anything.
if its coming from the back of the motor by the dizzy. that wire plugs into another wire that extends to the air temp sensor under your plenum on driver side. i just had this problem. the other wire is about 8 inches long. the end that goes into the air temp is the EXACT same kind of plug that plugs into your hei module. the two prong one. hope this helps.
i just looked at it, and there is nothing visible that it could plug in to. i took the plastic cover off the back of the intake to expose the dis. cap wires, and i could see the wire comes out of one of the black tubes that holds wires. its pointing toward the distributor cap area. the black tube it comes out of connects to the little black boxes where all the wires are on the drivers side of the car. it looks like id have to take apart the whole intake assembly to fix it. im pretty sure it has something to do with the wiper delay and washer.
First guess is EGR based on the wire colors and rough location
It is not an INJ connector, wrong colors and connector type. Wiper should be a 3 pin for the small connector. Washer is 2 pin dk blue and red. Its nowhere near that area of the engine bay
MAT/IAT has a 2 pin tan and black connector. Wrong colors for that
Inspect the EGR and EGR solenoid on the rear pass side of the plenum
ok, i looked up the egr solenoid. does this have different names, cuz some look the same and are called idle air control, purge solenoid,, or egr. some are black with a little plug in. and some are silver with just the vacuum line in or out. they all look like the same thing. is one black one with the connector the factory one, or is the silver one an aftermarket one that does not need to be connected?
