I am currently in the midst of rebuilding my 83 camaro but i am having issues with the wipers/washer wiring. I hooked my steering column into the car and started connecting grounds etc. I got the headlights, turn signals to work fine as well as the annoying chime that goes off when you leave your lights on with no key. Next I tried to work the wiper motor and no luck. I checked all the wires going to it to see if they had power, they didnt. So I checked the steering column to see if they matched up, the colours did not. They were basically the same colours but not matching, I figured I probably had to match them as the wiring may have varied from yr to yr but I havent been able to find the combination that works.
For the motor I have the 82 style with pulse delay (3 Pin conn, 2 Pin Conn, Lone grn wire.) The steering column has a dk grn, pink, gray, purple and a blk wire coming out of it. The harness has a white, pink, dark green, purple, gray going into it. The white wire powers the switch, from there I am lost.
What wires control what? Is it possible the wires were right and I am missing a ground? Where does the motor ground?
Help is appreciated thx.
