about 2 weeks ago my headlights were on and dash lights worked fine then the dimmer switch fried, and smoked i replaced both switches on the dash and the under dash transistor but to no avail, they still don't work i've checked the fuses about a million times does anybody have any suggestions?
also i forgot to mention this before when the headlights are on and the door is open the buzzer that should be driving me crazy is not working im assuming this is related to the lack of guage lights, is there a relay that controls this? and if so where is it located?
thanks for the help
can anybody come up with anything else?
i checked the wires that i can see and the connections at the back of the cluster and even re-replaced the transistor underneath the dash and still i have no dash lights or buzzer to indicate that the lights are on, i have replaced the dimmer dial (above headlight switch) replaced the headlight switch and checked all fuses and cleaned the contacts to many relays is there a relay that would control the two items i am lacking? by the way the interior lights still work just the guage lights do not work. could the dimmer dial be bad? the replacement was used.
