Turn Signal quit automatically shutting off

Hey all - tried searching but to no avail.

My left turn signal in the past couple days quit turning off by itself after making a turn.

The right one still works fine.

I have no idea how this mechanism works so I was hoping someone could shed some light on it for me?

Re: Turn Signal quit automatically shutting off

Well you need to take the steering wheel off. Then just behind it there should be a metal plate the is held on by a small ring aroung the steering shaft. To take the plate off they make a tool or you can try to push the plate in, but its like 50# test spring or some insane amount. Anyways I would get the tool, the tool tells you how to back the plate off the shaft. After that just replace the white plastic sleeve called the turn signal cam that is the next piece, put everything back together and see if that was the prob. if not its the next white plastic device that is the turn signal switch. Any parts store has these things its very common item to break in the GM steering column.
