i recently started having problems with my heat it started when i broke the middle consol where the heater controls and stuff are it started acting up i checked fuses and stuff im just wondering if there is something that would not make the heat motor blow that im now aware of. its cold outside so i need to get the heat workin in this thing .
Turn the fan on the next to highest speed, go under the hood and rap on the blower motor with the handle of a screwdriver... Sometimes they stick when the bearings start to go.
Beyond that, you've got the HVAC mode lever, and the fan switch. There's also a blower resistor pack on the top of the HVAC housing under the hood, and a high speed relay that bypasses the resistor pack. I've yet to see a HVAC mode lever go bad, but I've had every other piece of the system fail at one time or another.
JamesC is on the right track, the lower speeds all run through the resistor pack. Pull the connector off the resistor pack, and connect a test light between the yellow and purple wires. It should light up with the fan set to low. From tan to purple it should light up in the second position. Blue to purple should light in the third position. If any of these doesn't light, the switch is bad. If they all light up correctly, the resistor pack is fried.
Alternatively you can measure the voltage with a DVOM instead of a test light, but either way will work.
You could also jerk the resistor pack and give it a visual. You may find that the "coil" (been a long time since I messed with one) is burned or broken in two.

Well i pulled the resistor pack out and looked at it and there looks like there is nothing wrong with it still wont work on med low just high the other day it didnt work at all again after putting another relay in it so i went and bought another relay havent had a problem you i will post in the morning if it does it again if you guys have any suggestions about this please need all the help i can get right now=/

Should you still experience a problem, this from sofakingdom:
The resistors are used in the low 3 speeds ONLY. They CANNOT POSSIBLY cause the high speed to fail.
Find the blower motor high speed relay. It will be a small box near the blower itself. You can follow the thick purple wire from the blower to the relay. The relay will have a couple of small wires, the thick purple one, and a thick red one. The red one feeds raw battery to the relay, which then feeds it to the motor, thereby bypassing the ENTIRE rest of the car's wiring and delivering the highest possible voltage to the blower. Or, maybe not.... follow the red wire away from the relay. It will go up, to the windshield cowl, and over toward the driver's side. About at the point where it reaches the pass side valve cover, you will find a connector. Disconnect that extremely stupidly designed connector and observe that it has burnt completely to ashes, like everybody else's. There's your problem, same as everbody else.
Cut that idiotic thing off; and replace it with a pair of the BIG THICK HEAVY-DUTY yellow slide terminals. Not, the little weenie ones that are just like the blue and red ones except with a yellow barrel; look for the BIG THICK HEAVY-DUTY ones. Try to find insulated ones if possible. If not, cover the outer one with a piece of heat shrink.
There is another similar connector that produces a similar result, except that this one disables the ENTIRE HVAC electric subsystem. To repair that stupidity, remove the HVAC control head from the dash; look at the "mode" switch, that's worked by the big lever; note that it has (I think) 3 wires: one green, one some other color that goes to the fan switch, and one brown. Follow that brown wire. It is the supply to the system from the car's main harness. About 15" or so into the dash from the control head, you will come upon a connector identical to that stupid one for the high speed blower feed, except this one will be smaller. It will be equally burnt to ashes. Replace it as well, with the same type terminals as described above.
After changing those 2 connectors out, you may be amazed at how much better your whole HVAC works; especially, the blower will blow more.
The only way i can get the blower to work is if i take a wire and put it on the red and purple wire on the relay connector thats the only way i have heat..
I had to cut out that "stupid connector" as well, the thing was burnt to a crisp. I think it is a "fusible link", I removed it and used a large yellow butt connector to splice the two ends together. Blower still did not work.
If you wind up in the same situation try wiring the blower motor directly to the battery, I tried that and the blower motor seems to be bad. Might be the same for you.

Now that is weird, so you bypass the relay and the blower works just fine. And that is your THIRD new relay? Sounds like something might be frying them, or maybe it is an intermitent bad switch?

Did you try any of this that I suggested 5 days ago? If you're just going to throw parts at the problem and modify wiring randomly, it could take a while to get it figured out. Doing diagnostics will help you diagnose where the problem is occurring so you can focus on the problem instead of shooting in the dark.

Well it fixed itself for now. the resist pack is good though its got something to do with the Hvac controls we did the light test like you said to do drew and i think there is a connection problem in the dash behind the hvac. I didnt mention that my middle console that holds my hvac control and radio broke awhile back and now that i think about it thats when the problems started so i think i might have knocked something lose idk how but i think thats the problem.

Trace the brown wire mentioned above. See what you find.
