Hey guys i have recently purchased a 91 firebird. it ran fine for the first couple weeks and then it started sputtering when idling and then one day i was in traffic and it got really hot and now it won't start back up. i've changed all the sensors relating to the error code 23 its giving me with no luck. and i took the fuel rail apart and found out that the injectors aren't firing. I'm thinking its a computer problem but not sure. anyone have a similar problem that they might know why its doin it. i'm thinking its either the computer or the harness but not sure.
thanks i'll check it out when i get back home in a few weeks. i did use the test light to see if the sensors were working and they did so thats why i thought it was the computer. from what i understand the wiring harness for the sensors is the same harness that controls the injectors thats why i think its the computer
Repeat the test on the other injector terminals with a test light connected to battery positive. Crank the engine, and note whether the test light blinks. If the test light stays off during this, connect to a different terminal, as you need to find out whether the ECM is grounding the injectors, not whether the ignition source is reaching them.
