Need some help with strange headlight issue

I have a 1991 Z28 vert and my headlights just started doing something pretty weird. I turn on the headlights, and they work fine. However, when I turn on the high beams, both high beam lights come on, but the passenger side low beam light stays on as well...the driver's side does as it should and shuts off. Has anyone had this happen to them?

Anyone out there got any tips for fixing this, I'd appreciate it. Thanks

Re: Need some help with strange headlight issue

wrong. your driver side high is burnt out, the way they are suposed to operate is:

lows - two outer lights on
highs- all 4 light up

Ive got the same issue your head lamp is simply half burnt out you can get a replacment for like $20 at autozone

Re: Need some help with strange headlight issue

interesting...i don't seem to remember any time where both lights were on at once. but, then again, i never use the high beam on the car, but it has to work to pass state inspection. i'll have to look into it some more.

I couldn't remember either, so I went out and tried the lights. The highs and lows are never on at the same time.

Re: Need some help with strange headlight issue

hmmm...well, i guess i have an issue somewhere then. who knows how long its been like that, as i said, i never use the high beams. could have just started, could have been like that for a while.

anyone have any suggestions on what my problem may be? the circuit doesn't look too complicated, so hopefully it isn't anything major.

On my '88 S/C low beams are outside only, and high beams are all four as well.

Re: Need some help with strange headlight issue

Mine is probably fubarred as well. When I first bought the car my low beams worked properly, but my highbeams would light up both sides on the drivers side but only the outside low beam on the passenger side. I found a ground wire near the lights cut, so I soldered it to my high beam on the passenger side and now all four come on whenever I have high beams on. May not be right but I like it too!
