I did a swap and now my fuel pump isn't working
Okay so me and my dad have a 88 iroc that had a 350 tpi engine and then another 87 with a 305. the 87 had the better body so we decided to swap the 350 into the 87.
we got everything finally hooked up and all of the electronics work that we know of. the problem though is that the fuel pump isn't working which is the only thing stopping the car from running we know of. we looked at the other car and the wiring harness seems to be completely different. is there anyway to get the fuel pump working without blowing the car up? the problem isnt the fuel pump as we hot wired it and then started the car for a good 10 seconds.
all the gauges but the tempature one works also so i dont know if that is another problem we would encounter or not. we really would appreciate some help.
also, one of the pistons seem to be off since we put the engine back in and had it started for that split few seconds, any guesses on why? it was fine before when we had it in the other car
THANKS

Re: I did a swap and now my fuel pump isn't working
we used the engine harness already from the 350 and plugged it where the 305 harness used to be and the fuel pump doesnt work unless we hot wire it. and the engine isnt running right when we do hot wire it it sounds like its missing and cuts off now and then. and ecm and prom? we both really arent engine guys but thought we knew enough to make this swap, guess not
we are using the engine computer from the 350 if that helps
we are using the engine computer from the 350 if that helps

The full pump works because we can jump the fuel pump to get it to work but as I said t isn't right. And we will print those pages out and look at them tmr and get back to you if we hve any questions or if we solved it

You can just extend the wires to the alternator. Is everything else about the same? Dual fans on both cars?

Re: I did a swap and now my fuel pump isn't working
So pretty much switch the wiring harness to the one in the 305? We're going to try that since something else isn't working which is why the car sounds so bad when it starts when the fuel pump is hot wired
