Not really sure if anyone on the forums is into electronics / computers enough to possibly know this but I'm trying to find a LCD touch screen that would fit in our opening for the radio.

I'm thinking about putting a carputer in my camaro and would like to have it looking as integrated as possible. I know I could probably make something to go above the ac controls (I think I've even seen one persons mod of this) but I didn't really want anything that big, and also I think the lip of the dash would partially hide it from the drivers view.

The closest thing I can find is the Lilliput 7" display (http://store.mp3car.com/Lilliput_7_S..._p/mon-121.htm), but the height on it is 104mm, and by my figuring (without actually measuring in the car yet) the opening for our radios is around 70 to 75mm tall. It might could squeeze in if I modified the bezel some and remove the separator between the AC and the Radio and then probably have to trim down the bottom of the bezel some as well, but I wanted to try and avoid making any modifications like that if I could find something that would fit.

I could probably use a smart phone display but I don't know of any smart phone displays larger than 4.3" and that would be a little to small I think. That may end up being what I have to settle for though. Just figured I'd post here and see if anyone else happened to know of anything.

The hole thing that got me started down this road is the absolute hatred I have for how far a single din radio has to poke out, I want something to sit flush.

I fit a double din radio in that area but I had to modify the trim piece. I was able to keep my as/heat controls. It's a really tight fit but you can do it!

Yeah, I totally missed the car audio section when I was looking around earlier. Should have looked in there first.

Seeing how the double din fits, that lilliput 7" display I linked earlier might fit similarly. It's only 4 mm taller than a double din unit. I'll have to get me another trim piece so that if I screw one up I have a spare but looks like it just might be doable.
