Turn Signal Relay Location
Hey guys,
84 T/A. Silly question maybe, but as I've never had an issue with it, I've never looked for it. But where is the turn signal relay? Is it in the fuse box or stuffed up under the dash? Or somewhere else that I might need to look?

Re: Turn Signal Relay Location
The turn signals do not use a relay. The only thing that makes the turn signals flash is the flasher (thermal bi-metal circuit interrupter).
The flasher is located usually next to the fuse box, just clipped to it. But it could have been unclipped and can be elsewhere now.
The hazard flasher (is a different part) resides usually in the convenience center which is under the dash to the right, towards the center console.
Both flashers have only 2 prongs, that identifies them easily.
Hope this helps.

Re: Turn Signal Relay Location
The LED maker is telling you the truth. Once you install LED bulbs, your load-dependent flasher will stop flashing and you will need to replace it with an electronic version.
They have gotten so cheap that you can find one at your local car parts store for just $12 nowadays. Oh, in your case, you will have to probably order one from the Internet since the GM flashers might not be readily available in your location. They sell those flashers .
And you are right, the GM flashers are just cylindrical objects under the dash somewhere. They are easily identifiable by their two prongs at a 90-degree angle.
Hope this helps.

I really appreciate it. I've been driving illegally for the last year because I don't have "Amber" turn signals. I've modified my 88 GTA style lamps to be like the 91-92 lamps with the amber turn signals on the very outside. Now I won't have to worry about the cops pulling me over. Again, I really appreciate the help!

Re: Turn Signal Relay Location
Ozz, if your vehicle was imported with red turn signals, it should have an exception from the import authorities and you should get no trouble from the police. But if they just like to pull you over to hassle you and check our your ride, that is understandable.
Now what would happen if you were to revert your tail lamps back to all-red turn signals and if you also added a sequencer to the turn signals to make them flash directionally? Would they throw a fit?

They also have yearly Vehicle safety checks on all cars over 3 years old. $70.00 per year for the inspection. $350 a year to get tags on cars over 10 years old. More for newer cars. They really hit you hard with this stuff here.

[QUOTE=Ozz1967;5340467]Hey guys,
on my 83 camero. Take the under dash panel off and a metal bracket held by 2 small screws closer to the radio. On top of that bracket you'll find the blinker relay.
