Car: 1987 firebird
under carpet wiring.
can anyone tell me what all the wires under the carpet are for? specifically the ones that run along the driver side and the two wires that run in front of the rear seats, thank you!

I'm going to guess the two wires near the rear seat are for the electric fuel pump. There are two other wires near the rear passenger (driver side) feet which are for power seats (if equipped). Additionally, there is a harness. Is your carpet out now? Here's a reference photo if needed.

the carpet is out. the wires in black plastic are the ones im asking about. what are they for? also any ideas on where i can find out what the wires are running along the drivers side. i have schematics, but none make sense.

i think all the wires that are in the black plastic guards next to the drivers seat are everything that runs to the back. all the tail lights, speakers, elec fuel pump, hatch release/ defrost, rear wiper if you have it. on my 84 the switch for power mirriors comes from this under the driver seat and into the console.

More info is needed before I can upload the schematics for the color codes.. What is the engine size of your car.
