anyone interested in my low 12 second 305?
just testing the waters, i'm putting a bigger combo together soon so this little booger will be available soon. this 305 has been 12.31 @ 108mph with NO POWER ADDERS. here's the specs:
-1985 lg4 block .030" over
-speed pro hyperuetectic pistons
-ohio crankshaft forged 5.7" rods
-eagle cast crank
-melling high volume oil pump
-comp magnum 280H cam 230*/230* .480"/.480" 110*lsa
-.015" steel shim gaskets
-113 casting aluminum vette heads with back cut 1.94/1.5 valves and a bowl blend. i also polished the combustion chambers. these heads come from the factory with screw in studs and guide plates
-hardened 'moly pushrods .100" shorter than stock
-comp 1.52 ratio pro magnum full roller rockers
-holley street dominator intake p/n 300-36
-moroso cast aluminum centerbolt valve covers
since i'll be going BBC, the hedman longtubes and custom dual exhaust will be available as well.
*note* there is a small one way leak in the #4 combustion chamber. it leaks a small amount of air into the cooling system, but no coolant goes into the combustion chamber or the oil. all fluids are clean. i daily drive this car putting about 15miles on it a day. i've never had any trouble out of it and it hasn't hurt performance. it has a 165* thermostat and never gets over about 175* in the summer down here in GA. i cannot list this without saying what's wrong with it.
as far as a price goes, i figure i have close to $2200 in it, and it's got about 8K on it since the rebuild so...make a reasonable offer. i'm desperately looking for a daily driver, so maybe we can work a trade...or a partial trade, depending on condition of the vehical. like say you have a $500 car, i'd need a little extra cash too, but if you had a $2000 car, than obviously, i'd need to come up with something.

Matt, what mileage were you getting on that motor? I know you said it was your daily driver for a long time.

about 12 around town, i've managed 23 on the highway with a 3.73 gear and 26" tall tires with the converter locked up in my 700r4. obviously you'd get better if you put on a different induction system and a tighter converter

exhaust pics:
that pictures was taken shortly after i built it. it has a couple of dents in it from around town but hasnt effected performance at all, as this motor has gone 12.31 through this exact set of pipes. i'd like to sell it as a package deal with the headers since it is made for these headers and will only work with a 700r4 car to my knowledge. obviously, this will not be available till after i get something else to drive (i'm working on it, though nothing is worked out yet. still looking! anyone got anything?) as far as price goes, i figure $325 would probably cover it. not sure how i would ship if if you wanted it shipped though.

to bad you dont live near here =)
i got a 305 auto 700r engine runs perfect body is stright but could use paint(some *** hole before me looked like he used a roller on it) nothing leaks but could use door seals , paid 1800 for it put 900+ labor in finding out why it would not start with 1 key turn (we got it working tho) basicly stock running perfect daily driver , which is what i use it for now

Matt, if you think we can work something out with the exhaust clearing my TKO I would seriously consider taking it off your hands when the time comes. Also, pops went 9inch on the chevelle, so he's got a good 12bolt 4.56 gearset and stock posi unit that he's going to be looking to get rid of.

Hey man, if I were on a budget and I needed a motor, it'd be this one.

i think we can make it work around the slave cylinder for your tko, but we'll need to put it back up in the air and look at it again before i say it can be done.

He's got the complete rear end, but it was too far beat up to warrant a rebuild, hence the move to the 9inch. I'll ask him later tonight if he knows the spline count and let ya know.
/bump for one badass motor
