Trying to sell some of my old car parts collection to buy a car to drive to work since my trucks 15mpg is just too expensive! Hoped to use this engine in a future project but never could get the time and/or money to do it.
I really don't remember too much about the engine other than it had alot of lift which made it "lopey" and the Compression is 11.5:1 Which at the time seemed a bit high for Premium but I found out that if I switched to synthetic gasket material that I could run the engine on E-85 for regular driving. Or you could still use Higher octane fuel for racing purposes.
I have a carb for the engine and was actually the car used when they dynoed it. Sorry I don't have the Dyno papers. The carb is a Holley double pumper 770cfm. Electric choke.
Comes with a HEI distributor also. I have some Chrome M/T Valvle covers that would look really nice on this engine. The last valve covers that were on it were used for another car so we had these old set on there to keep junk out of the engine while it was being stored.
I was going to put an Auto trans behind this engine and was told to use at least a 3000 rpm stall due to the cam that was in there.
Engine comes as it is in the picture except I will include the carb (pics available upon request)
Don't be afraid to make an offer but don't low ball me or there won't be a response.
Also block is from 1971 not sure on the heads but I can get the numbers for you. They are stock heads that were ported and polished very nicely. I always wanted to invest in some nice aluminum heads to see what this engine would do but no such luck on that.
After the engine was built it maybe had about 2000 miles on it but since it has sat for about 5 years in a heated garage it still should be gone through with some fresh gaskets.
