HOLY CRAP! 250 for a 305 core? Why dont you sell him some 882's while you are at it? I just junked one that ran the other day.
I would sell him the whole car for 250!! It is not worth doing anything with, floorboard is gone and it was rode hard and put up wet.I was going to use it as a donor for my S10, but changed my plan on that!! All bs aside I could use a good set of large chamber heads.
i might have a 305 that i would give to you for $300 but you would have to pick it up or arrange for it to be picked up. ill let you know what hppends with it
I might be able to hook you up with a TPI 5.7 motor. ill talk to the guy that has it and find out what he needs for it. i know it will need new bearings though.
Oh, and i live in southern MN so i may have to charge a small fee for delivery.
I got a 305. Its an lg4 out of an 86 Firebird. It ran good when I pulled it out few years ago. I think I got everything for it. I might even have the carb. $100.

hey yea if you want that 305 out of my car its yours just have to get mine built real quick and swap it then its yours. it doesnt need any work as far as i know runs good in my car now.
xxx and bigj350, you two should send me an email. are those you're talking about ready to just put in and go? and as i'm kinda a novice, i'm assuming with those i'd need a new transmission and stuff under the hood redone to handle that kind of power, right? but thanks for all the help guys. awesome.
don't spend 250 or 300 on a 305. Around chicago we sell them for $50-100 because no one wants it for a performance buildup. For $900 you get a brand new longblock 350, so keep that in mind. Furthermore to v6 to v8 swap you'll need motor mounts, springs, etc etc not including the wiring harness. Might be cheaper IMO to buy a running v8 car with a rusty body for $500 at the most and swap parts over. I've bought 5 or 6 of them off ebay, craigslist, etc to part out that were L98 cars.
For the most part its ready to go. The carb, timing cover and accessories need put back on. Not a big deal though. I am not sure if I have the right carb for it though. Let me know
I have a 350 short block I tore it apart was gona use it but decided not to its out of an 87 camaro its factory roller motor just needs rehond like to get 250
