I'm tempted to buy the rocker arms and pushrods. Ive got a set of aluminum L98 heads on my 86 LB9, would those rocker arms and pushrods be a straight up replacement, and work? Any clearance issues with the stock height valve covers?
good deal on the 113 vette heads, I know I paid a lot more for my set...
Tell me about it. I paid $600 for these things when I bought them.
The rockers are non-guided so you would need hardened guide plates(which these heads have) and hardened pushrods(which I also have) they will fit under stock centerbolt valve covers with no issue. However you can't run hardened pushrods with with the stock guide plates because they arent hardened, you'll wear grooves in them.
All the 305 had was ported stock TPI parts. 214/224 duration flat tappet cam. edelbrock headers, and these heads. It was easily making 300+hp.
The heads are off of a 1990 Corvette.
High I want to get some of these for my 305 TPI and try atleast to get what you got, a nice 13.7 with hooker shorty's, Edelbrock high flow base plate + SLP runners and K&N intake, with the 214/224 cam and these heads, I was wondering if these heads are the same as the new GM performance ones part number 12556463 ?? 163cc intake 58cc chamber/ 1.94'' intake, 1.50'' exhaust?? would these heads (12556463) fit on my 305 TPI with no problems?

Hi, are these the same exact thing as the ZZ4 heads?, and would these bolt directly on to the 305 TPI with no problems? also what brand is the 214/224 cam you had? do you think i should go for the same ? since you got 13.7 out of it?
Yeah I think the ZZ4 heads have different valve springs for the hotter ZZ4 cam (not that hot but hotter than the stock 1990 Corvette cam) I have the Corvette heads and they came with the stock springs, bought a set of ZZ4 valve springs and they have a green line painted on the valve springs. Don't have the specs but the ZZ4 springs andle the higher lift cam I was told.

ya i need some help ya im a noob but please, ok I want to get Trick flow 56cc heads/Cam combination for my 305 TPI but i kinda wanted to keep the internals stock cause of the budget, my stupid question is if i got a cam with higher lift in the range of .462/.469 218/224 duration at .050 to go with these heads, wont the higher lift send my valves into the stock pistons?
I have a set of just done 113 L98 heads. these are the sort after alum vette heads.
"In 1988 GM switched the Corvette to the 10088113 casting "D-Port" aluminum cylinder heads. These were good for just over 350hp before you had to start working them."
new springs, seats, valves, retainers, all redone, still in the plastic bags from the machine shop. $700
