I have my 406 SBC That I need to get rid of, I wanted to keep it around as a back up, but my hours got cut at work and it has to go.
Here are the specs.
Motor
400 30 over
406 Cubic inches
Cola Crank
Pink rods
TRW pistons flat top pistons
Clevite bearings
Large Lunati Hydraulic camshaft. Hyd.Flat Tappet; RPM 2500-6500; Adv.Dur. 300 Int./Exh.; Valve Lift .515 Int./Exh.; Lobe Angle 108 Deg
Brand new Auminum Brodix Spec 2 heads, fully ported and polished
New valves,springs,locks retainers keepers, valve seals.
Performer Edelbrock RPM intake
Moroso deep pan with trap doors
Flex plate
Comp Cams Rocker arm studs
Chromoly hardened pushrods
Comp cams Hydraulic lifters
Crank pulley
Fuel Block Off plate
Im asking $3000 firm.
The motor will be everything from intake to pan, No valve covers.
The car saw a best time this spring of 11.65@117MPH. That is with the car weighing full weight, stock suspension,springs shocks from 1991. Stock 10 bolt rear with a stock gear, and a 2400 convertor. With a gear suspension, and a larger convertor in a car at the same weight, you could see low 11"s on motor. The motor was also built to handle N20.
I had never sprayed the motor. There are currently about 5,000 miles on the engine since it was put together. The motor has seen 5 track passes.

Sorry I forgot about the compression. The compression ratio is 11:5.1.
I might consider splitting it up, but would rather sell it as a whole.

Will sell the short block for $1200. Everything but the heads.
Block internals,camshaft,intake, oil pan, timing chain,cover etc.
$3000 for the complete motor minus ignition,carb. Intake manifold does need to be re sealed.

The specs on the heads are...
1.60 2.02 new valves. new valve seals. Competition valve job, port and polish.
1.6 roller rockers,Comp Cams studs and poly locks.
Head have about 5K on them since they were done.

Did I read this right, a Cola crank with factory gm pink rods? It's stroked? What is the stroke an cubic inch?

Its a 406, yes it has a cola crank and Pink Rods. Its stroke is 2.75 and the bore is 4.155

I still have the complete motor. I never dynoed the motor or car. Kick Out??
If you mean the car while shifting no, I have slicks on it.
The car went 12.17 @ 111MPH on 93 octane and no carb adjustment.
In spring of last year year(08) the car went a best of 11.56 @ 117MPH with a differnt convertor,and mildy tuning the Junk Edelbrock 750. The car is full weight, it weighed in at 3522 with me in it, a stock 10 bolt and 273 gear. That is on all motor, no N20.
I would estimate somewhere between 425 to 465 range for power.

I think you ment 3.75 stroke,
BTW is not a stroked 400 because that is the stock stroke.
Is the crank cast or forged.
Is the cam 300 at .050?

I ran it on pump gas, around town and didnt have an issue. The motor likes 110 if your going to be aggressive.
