1 5/8 Street Legal Performance (SLP) Stainless Steel Headers
This post is for a used pair of 1 5/8 Street Legal Performance (SLP) Stainless Steel Headers for a GM Third Generation F-Body. These will fit a 1982-92 Chevrolet Camaro, Berlinetta, Z28, RS or Pontiac Firebird, Trans Am, GTA with a 305(5.0L) / 350(5.7L) power plant. These headers are compatible with carbureted or fuel injected engines, specifically Tuned Port Injection (TPI), Throttle Body Injection (TBI), or Crossfire Injection (CFI). These headers were installed on my 85 Z28 (355 TPI) for about a year and I ran 12.90s all day long through these headers. SLP makes a quality product that fits incredibly well and performs as advertised. These smog legal/C.A.R.B. approved headers have since been discontinued and are starting to become extremely difficult to find.
Please note in order to achieve the appropriate clearance in relation to the steering column, the #2 tube on the drivers side header needs to be massaged (dented). This is extremely common with this particular F-Body fitment, not only with the SLP product, but several other header manufacturers as well. Additionally the fixed nuts on the collectors have been opened to accept 9/16 x 2 Ύ shoulder bolts. I have found this configuration is much easier to work with when changing collector gaskets. These headers are in remarkable condition and will deliver with everything you need for installation (with exception of the Y-Pipe). Again, this auction does NOT include the Y-Pipe. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Good luck!

Hey, I hear you
Then again, one of the benefits of not having the Y pipe is that it allows for installation on both single and dual catalytic converter applications. Most exhaust shops (well here in California) will bang out a custom Y pipe for $150-$200.

LOL!!! You should seriously consider comedy as a career! What a clown! I have had 4 of these cars over the course of the last 20 years and SLP headers on every one. Never, have I been asked for a C.A.R.B. plate/number by any referee or smog station. What are you doing, cruising into the test only bragging about how bitchin your car is and how you hope it will pass smog with your K&N air filter, shiny little Hooker headers and glorified glass pack? If you were genuinely in the market for a set of headers I would address your concerns and would be more than happy to supply you with the images you are looking for. However, based on the images contained in your profile and the dates of said images you have a complete Hooker header and Y pipe set up that was recently coated. So you are not in the market for headers which makes your post completely malicious and quite frankly without worth. You are an idiot! So how about you pound sand before you get your feeling hurt little man
Re: 1 5/8 Street Legal Performance (SLP) Stainless Steel Headers
well then there should be a carb sticker for them - all aftermarket stuff has to come with the smog nazi approval. you put it on now and no carb sticker - you dont pass the visual. that is what we are stuck with in cal. and should isn't is. used to is not now. we used to run flat head rails on hawthorne blvd too but that was then this is now. http://www.arb.ca.gov/homepage.htm is the carb site - home of the cal smog nazi's.
and if it does not have a little plate on it that says "d-187-10" then its not approved.
like the hooker 2055 - have to have a plate with the carb number or you fail visual.

Honestly, I'm with grey goose here, do you just troll around looking for exhaust systems that either aren't smog legal or don't have the "proper identification"?
There obviously was no reason for your post, you posted this to try and make some point I guess.
Do you work for the Department Of Transportation or something?
Remember, this is a CLASSIFIED post, he's trying to sell his headers, this isn't the exhaust board and he's not asking to get his headers critiqued.
Re: 1 5/8 Street Legal Performance (SLP) Stainless Steel Headers
all that said grey goose i'll throw 2 cents in , tell slacker to look at a factory exhaust they have no cert or stamp if you want to see something that looks rigged look at a factory system . if the asses at the inspection station can't tell the system is functional when they run there other test . the systems have no use or reason to be on the car and the asses inspecting need to find another line of work. long story short those sytems are very basic in design all you need is the tubes to come out and hook them rest of the system just like factory. by the way slacker be more learned before you spout , i have a set of custom long tubes with hook ups i personally made and have passed both phases of emissions visual and snif here in pa

I wish I had gotten these headers back when I bought my complete SLP setup. I instead went with the 1 3/4 version, which is way to big for my 305. Hmm, maybe if someone wanted to buy mine I could turn around and buy yours...
