Ford 8" rear end ready for a third-gen in CHICAGO area
After taking apart my original rear, I decided to stick with it, thus this one must go. It's over kill for me and the money would be better spent elsewhere.
Specs:
8" rear end
3.00:1 gears
Spool
Brand new brakes
Ready to fit in a thirdgen of course.
I'm on the northside of Chicago. Price is $500 It's ready to run as-is, but you may want taller gears (obviously) if you're racing.
Re: Ford 8" rear end ready for a third-gen in CHICAGO area
If ya don't mind me asking... if this thing doesn't have a torque arm mount, how exactly do you figure it's "ready" for a third-gen? The torque arm mount is the biggest difference between our axles and all the rest of the stuff out there... and the biggest fabrication obstacle to figure out. ??
Re: Ford 8" rear end ready for a third-gen in CHICAGO area
Fabrication is sometimes required. I had a a good idea of how I was going to make one, but ended up spending my time fabing subframe connectors and fixing my current rear end. $500 for an almost complete Ford rear is a pretty damn good deal! And if you guys are anything like myself, a little fabrication, DIY and ingunity goes a long way.

Well for guys like me that don't have the cash to drop on a currie or moser, this is a solid deal. Not to mention you're only running a 3.27:1 so stop ripping on my 3.00:1.................
