its time for me to ditch the hooker shorties(i think part #2055). they are in decent shape. no Y-Pipe and no air tubes. they are coated by jet hot but the coating is showing its age. ill get pics tomorrow. im looking for $100.

How old is the coating and what coating type is that? Their Sterling or extreme sterling or some other? Just looking for time-span information related to Jet-Hot coatings. Thanks.
racing geek, wish you luck on getting a set. I know you have been looking for some time.

Is the custom y pipe for sale with the headers? Is the coating on the headers stained or is that discolored spot in the one pic just dirt that can be washed off? Is there any rust? Are there any dings or dents anywhere in the headers? Would the stock y pipe really work... I thought these headers have a 3" collector not a 2.5" like the stock pipe. Do you know if hooker sells the y pipe separetaly?

im sorry. thought you meant the stock hooker y pipe(compaired to the custome on that i have). so im not sure in the factory y pipe will fit. the custom y pipe prob wont fit your car unless you have a tubular front crossmember. plus it wasnt done that nice and i was never really happy with it. the coating does have some stains on it for leaky valve cover gaskets. im not sure if they will wash off. i never tryed. there is no rust or dings/dents in them. there used to be holes for the air tubes but i cut them off and welded them closed. i never had them recoated after that. i dont know if hooker sell the y pipe seperately.
I e-mailed Hooker maybe a year ago asking them for a possible replacement y-pipe for the 2055's since mine had a dent in it (not really just seeing if I could get a replacement for others), and they stated it was around $250 for Hookers y-pipe alone from them. So you might be better off having a local shop do a custom one for you

yeah it should only be about 30 bucks to ship. you should be able to find a local shop to bent you a y-pipe for a fair price. let me know what you want to do.
Unreal. When i was looking forever i could never find these at a price like this. Now i dont need them and you guys are lowballing $100 bucks?!?!?! Give the guy a break. $100 for a set of 2055's is a steal. As for the y-pipe, bring the car to any competent exhaust shop and they should be able to make you one that is as good if not better than the aftermarket ones that come in the kits. I kno that my Edelbrock one is junk.
subroc THANK YOU very much. i dont see why $100 SHIPPED is a big deal. im glad to see that someone else has common sense. im selling alot of stuff right now and all i get is one low ball offer after another.

No problem at all . I too sell a good amount of things whether it be car stuff or bicycle stuff and get low balls a good amount of the time. Drives me nuts. Like now...im selling a near mint '71 Schwinn touring bike that was my mothers. I figured 100 bucks was a fair deal for something that could be in a museum its so nice. What does someone do though...offers me 40. Give me a break. Hope the sale goes through for you.
