I had the posi and gears installed this past winter, so it's been together approximately 9 months. Since being put together, it has been on sawhorses in my shed. Not sure what type of gears they are.

No backing plates - run whatever you want on it. AFAIK you cannot buy them new anymore, and haven't been able to for several years. These were installed in '92 Firehawks, and sold over the counter by SLP and / or GMPP.

Can't go that low on it, sorry. That's about what the posi, gears, and labor cost alone.

Submitted a few requests for quotes with different shipping companies, never heard back, tried following up and ran into dead ends. Sent a PM about it several weeks ago. I've never shipped anything that large before, so if you have any more experience with it, let me know what companies I should look into. I'd still be more than happy to crate it up for you.

Sorry for the delays guys - my wife is about to give birth to baby #2, so life has been a bit hectic the past couple weeks, and will likely be the same the next two weeks.....
I'll keep trying to check in here though and keep up with this thread.

also
Try yellow Freight I think they have a website. I had a dana 44 shipped to me from Ill area to NY and I think it was about 200. bucks. The guy I bought it from mounted it on to an oak pallet. It was delivered to a Yellow Freight Facility around the corner and I went to pick it up in a truck. It also came with Moser axles
P.S. Good price for the rear, I bought mine then put new gears and a Detroit tru-trac in it and powder coated it for a little over 2000.
