-2nd rear from a 2000 Z28 camaro, 110K miles, $350, has the larger rear disc brakes and zexel posi unit.
These are 4th gen rears and will bolt into a 3rd gen no problem, they are 2" wider on each end which makes them perfect for running later model corvette/Z28/Trans am wheels on your 3rd gen without spacers.
NO shipping, pick up in NY zip 12538.
I'm interested but just so I understand, if I put my stock 87 IROC wheels back on they would stick out of the quarter panel by about 2"?? What is the correct backspacing to use so the wheels tuck under the car the way they should?? Other than that it's a complete bolt in??
Re: (2) 4th gen posi rears with disc brakes, LT1/LS1 for sale NY
Correct..if 3rd gen wheels are used they will stick out 2" on each side. If 4th gen F body or later model corvette wheels are used they will fit as factory and not stick out. The rear itself is a bolt in.
Re: (2) 4th gen posi rears with disc brakes, LT1/LS1 for sale NY
I dont know if that is true or not, but I have both LT1 and LS1 front brake assemblies available if anyone wants to upgrade the front at the same time.
Re: (2) 4th gen posi rears with disc brakes, LT1/LS1 for sale NY
Hey Dave, just to try and help your sales a little, the wheels won't stick out 2 inches from the wheel well, but 2 inches farther out from the outer edge of where the tires are now, so since they are an inch and a half in from the wheel well, they will be perfectly flush to sticking out slightly with the '93 axle, and the 2000 axle is actually slightly shorter, at an inch and a half wider on each side, so that 3rd gen wheels will be nearly perfectly flush with the fender...the following picture is my 3rd gen firebird with 16" formula wheels and a 2000 rear axle, you can see that it's flush, and to make sure it doesn't rub you can either round the inner edges of the fender or use air shocks like i have. Also the 2000 rear axle will require at least 16" wheels, where i believe certain 15" wheels will be able to fit on the '93 axle. As far as front brakes, on a third gen spacers will be needed regardless. If you go LS1 brake upgrade in the front, you probably can get away with 1/2" less of a spacer because the new disk on hub assembly will be 1/2" farther out than factory. Hope this helps clarify for prospective buyers!
Re: (2) 4th gen posi rears with disc brakes, LT1/LS1 for sale NY
Thanks for the info, helps a lot, didnt know the 2000 rear was narrower than the 93.
The 93 rear is sold, but the 2000 rear is still available. It is a 3:23 posi with the zexel posi unit, $300 cash takes it.

Wish you were more towards Rochester NY, I'd pay cash ASAP for it.
