Converted Race Ported LT1 heads & intake for L98 or SBC

Selling a set of converted LT1 heads and intake for a L98 or standard sbc. Heads have a ton of hours into them and flow extremely well, @.600” lift intake flows 300cfm and exhaust 210cfm. Heads have all new hardware and are complete ready to bolt-on, 67cc chambers, 2.02/1.06 stainless steel valves, 1.500” valve springs good for .650” lift, teflon seals and heads are setup for screw in studs. LT1 intake is fully ported, openned up for a 58mm TB and matched to these heads and is all setup to be just bolted up and go.
This is a killer setup that will make a ton of power, will far excead the TPIS miniram (had it and sold it).
Heads and intake $1000
sorry about the pics, doesn't do any justice to the heads!
Thanks
Tony

You do great work man! Wish I could of gotten the TPI base from you, but I don't have fully siamesed runners. Can you siamese a set of runners?

I have a SCed setup now and am getting the car back together in the next month or so. One reason I haven't changed from the TPI is "keeping it original" and the other is intake height. What is the LT1 height compared to the TPI?

Did you do the work yourself?

What intake gasket is that ported to? the valve cover rail is clearanced above the intake ports, is that just to clear the gasket or is that done for some other reason? the LT1 intake shouldn't go above there so that doesn't make sense unless material has been added to the tops of the runners or if that's an LT4 intake...

what size valves are those?

Intake is alittle bigger than a felpro 1206, you just need to trim the top of the runner part to the blue seal part. The head was clearanced for the gasket and so that i could run a holley strip dominator intake with a carb,,,intake valves are 2.02 and exhaust is 1.60.
Yes i did all the work.

Re: Converted Race Ported LT1 heads & intake for L98 or SBC

That makes sense, even 1205's and the equivalent MRG gaskets hit that rail... I generally just cut back the length of the rail to within an 1/8 or 1/16" of the VC sealing surface if I have a reason to have them on a mill.

What gasket do you use with the LT1 intake? I'm guessing the easiest would be to take a set of felpros and cut them back/punch the bolt hole locations for the LT1 pattern?

That runs into another problem I've run into with the LT1 parts before, the gaskets are not as accurately located by the stock bolt locations because of the funky angles (none of the LT1 bolts go straight through the flange). GM solved that issue on the head side by using the little plastic alignment pins, but that makes laying out the intake side a pain in the butt. If you're starting with the LT1 gaskets that's not really a problem, but I'd love to know what you did with the felpros on them. The issue with LT1 gaskets is that they're a pain to trim to a port opening because if the steel layer in the center layer of the gasket, so you can't just trim them with a sharp knife like you could a set of SBC Felpros.

Sorry, not really helpful WRT selling them, but can appreciate what I'm seeing...

The LT1 intake gaskets i tried once to trim and it was too much work,,,the felpros work out just fine, like i said you just have to trim them and spend alittle time. I always put like two dabs of sealant on the gaskets on what ever head i'm working with just to locate the gasket where i want it to be so it doesn't move and let it set for a few.

yup, they bolt right up, intake is already setup for the distributor, all need is to setup a remote thermostat housing and two hoses go to the front of the heads which the wholes are bigger and setup for hose fittings in np thread. I can take a pic of how i did it so you have an idea if interested.

Are you sure that is the right moroso PN? Doing a web search all the pictures of that PN look like:

Do you have pics of the ends of the heads with the water fittings installed? what size did you drill and tap them to?

Re: Converted Race Ported LT1 heads & intake for L98 or SBC

yes thats it, i cut off the hose fitting and used two adjustable freeze out plugs, threaded it for some hose fittings and the temp sender, placed the thermostat and water neck on,,,BAM done! Haha,,,the front of the heads, the coolant holes are enlarged for more flow.
