T5 bellhousing w/ LS1 style T56 adapter plate installed

This is a T5 bellhousing with the T56 adapter plate that allows you to bolt a 98-02 LS1 style T56 to a SBC engine while using a T5 clutch setup and hydraulics. Very convenient for people that already have a T5 and want to upgrade to a T56, or much more simple than doing the LT1 T56 conversion. Adapter plate goes for $225 alone. Selling the whole assembly for SOLD.

The tranny crossmember, and this adapter if your using an LS1 style T56. That should be about it. May have to enlarge the shifter hole in your floor as well.

You have to have the long input shaft for that to work.
Or, I think someone makes a special pilot bearing.
Otherwise the input won't reach the pilot bearing.

I don't have any links, but you should be able to find what you need over on www.hawksthirdgenparts.com. You can also search the forums here for people that have done the swap. Shipping will probably be around $25 due to the weight.

This is designed to work with all LS1 style T56's...no custom input shaft needed. I believe the LS1 T56 has a longer input shaft than the LT1 T56 does, which is why this adapter plate is to be used with only the LS1 transmissions.

EDIT: A quick search on here brought this post up. It seems like you may need an extended pilot bushing, and there is a link in this thread for where to buy it. It's $22. Other than that, any LS1 T56 will work just fine. https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tran...questions.html

I did the swap the same way a while back using the adapter plate. You need an extended pilot bushing because the input shaft doesnt reach all the way for a normal pilot bushing. Or you can do like I did and get a bearing from NAPA that fits in the larger outer crankshaft hole and supports the input shaft better than the extended pilot bushing.

The extended pilot busing fits in the normal bushing hole on the crank shaft, but then just sticks out to reach the input shaft and has no radial support where the shaft makes contact. The bearing has 100% radial support for the input shaft.

Id have to search to find the part number for that bearing again though.
