Lloyd Elliott Ported AFR 195's/1040's 60cc

Sad to say but I've had to scrap my build and sell off some of my parts. I have these heads for sale.

AFR 195cc heads part number 1040. They were run for about 2 hours previously by Anethes here from Thirdgen. I bought them from IrocZ30589 here who did not personally run these heads. They have been milled .035 by AFR to get the chambers down to 60cc. Springs are the AFR 8017's good to .600 lift. Valves are 2.05/1.60 that AFR uses. I took them to Lloyd Elliott who is one if the best hand porters out there. I've used him for SBC, LT1, LS1 stuff and have been very happy with his work. Look him up he knows what he's doing. They received a full port job on the intake and exhaust runners. Chambers were left alone as they did not need additional porting since AFR CNC's them. I had Lloyd flow them afterwards and these things are ridiculous. I have pics of the heads and the flow sheet but they are not coming through my email just yet. Flow number are

149/122 @ .200
208/171 @ .300
263/204 @ .400
298/226 @ .500
310/235 @ .600
314/239 @ .700

There is well over $2k in these heads. My price is $1600. I will post pics when they come through my email. Thanks guys.

Zach

I second the question, where are you located? I am starting a 383 build for my vette and would need a better spring but if shipping is reasonable or you are in distance than I can justify 1600.

These heads are back up for sale. My old man is putting his 383 LT1 in his car so these are for sale still. Cam I was going to run was a 226/234 .571/.562 112 LSA. The heads flow alot of air but the ports are not massive. Lloyd really knows how to make a smaller port flow alot of air.

Gen1. AFR part # 1040, and seriously enhanced.

These heads need to go on a car that is actually going to make it down the track.

damnit that's some ridiculous flow indeed man! so were just fired up? may i ask what happened so that they were torn down again?
also what cc size are the ports after the porting job, do you have any figures for that? and maybe conditions for the flow job.. bore size?
they look so nice, wow.

Yeah it sucks getting rid of these but we no longer need them. The heads were fired up, then sold, then sold again to me, then had Lloyd port them and have not been run since porting. I do not now the port volume I did not ask Lloyd to CC them. It was Lloyd's flow bench I'm not entirely sure the specs of Lloyd's method of flowing.

Re: Lloyd Elliott Ported AFR 195's/1040's 60cc

Probably around 200cc now? Don't know that I'd be that concerned. They flow like a 210cc head but with higher velocity.

Here is the deal. I bought them new from AFR. I had AFR mill them to 60cc because I was running the car naturally aspirated in my '79 Z28. I assembled the motor, fired it up, broke the motor in for about 15 minutes. I drove the car in and out of the shop during the summer. I sanded, did body work, and painted the car. That winter, I came upon a thirdgen formula locally that had zero rust, and was a decent roller. It had T-TOPS, which my Z28 didn't have. I called a buddy who had purchased a '74 camaro tha tneeded extensive body work and offered him my Z28. He wanted it as a roller, so I took the motor + trans out.

While the motor was on the stand that spring, I came upon a procharger on craigslist for very short money. Since my motor was high compression, I needed to get some 75cc heads to run the blower. I ordered some AFR 210 heads, and sold these heads on the forum.

Of course, my intake wouldn't cover the ports on the 210 heads so I had to get a 1206 intake, which then hit my hood because it was taller so I had to get a different elbow, and so on. What a nightmare that was.

So no bs, they have less than 2 hours of run time and not over 2,000 RPM. With the right cam, 500hp on a naturally aspirated 383 shouldn't be too hard.

Re: Lloyd Elliott Ported AFR 195's/1040's 60cc

Joe, thanks for the detailed comment for interested buyers
With the insane flow they present now, as you already put it, there will be absolutely no trouble producing (I'd even say at least) 500hp in a 383, if you stretch it a bit with the cam and powerband, maybe a 350 even Probably need to upgrades springs for that tho.. hmmmm...
