I am swapping my 91 camaro 350 V8 to a 5 speed, I have most of the parts but my parts car was a v6. So I need a bell housing, clutch fork, flywheel and maybe a good used clutch.
Okay the parts car. You can take the slave cylinder, the pedals out. they should be the same. And for being a 10 spline if this is correct. idk never messed with v6's couldn't he just take the driveshaft out of the v6 to put it on his car with no modification. Please correct me if i am wrong. All he would need then is just the flywheel, bellhousing, I would go new on and get a complete clutch kit. I got one for 116 bucks. Autozone has them or any parts store can help you get it. It comes with the alignment tool, pilot bushing, throwout bearing, clutch, pressure plate. You can even get the bellhousing bought with the clutch kit little expensive. But i would go used on it. and the flywheel can be used as well just make sure its been machined surfaced it will cost 30 dollars so keep that in mind if someone wants big money. You can buy a new flywheel for 150 bucks depending what you want.

Thats what I was thinking until I just found some info on the tranny. v6 trans has a longer input shaft.
Well nice to know information about that. I am currently in a swap but not in the situation that your in i took parts off a firebird v8. but hmm. But even with the input shaft longer wouldn't the driveshaft be shorter?

Having "been there, done that" here is what you need:
You need the bellhousing, clutch fork, and pressure plate from a V8 thirdgen. No other ones will work(the s10 bellhousing does not have the proper "tilt" to it AFAIK)
The throwout bearing is the same between the V8 and V6, but while you have everything apart its best to replace it.
You need a V8 thirdgen flywheel that matches your engine - ie 1 piece RMS or 2 piece RMS. Getting a used one resurfaced only cost me $35 BUT you need a spacer to go between the flywheel and the crankshaft so the clutch travel is correct if you have a hydraulic clutch(which you should have)
The input shaft for a V6 T5 does have 14 splines while the V8 T5 has 26 splines on the input shaft. To use a V6 T5 you have to use a clutch disc from an 82 GMC S15 with the 2.8V6. P/N at Autozone is CP4201
The input shaft on a V6 T5 is only about 1/4" longer than on a V8 T5. I found this out the hard way when I cracked the bellhousing trying to force everything together. I took my angle grinder with a cutoff wheel and cut off the end of the input shaft. Then I used a grinding wheel to put the chamfer back on the edge of the input shaft. Just put the trans in neutral and spin the shaft while holding the grinder against it. Its not an important step, but it helps everything slide together easier.
P.S. - all this is covered in the T5 FAQ linked above
