Which LT1 Painless Wiring harness decision

I went to jegs.com and they have 2 LT1 painless wiring harness.
One is $361, the other is $599 !!!

One has vats, the other doesn't - but as I understand it, there are guys who can remove VATS (I don't need VATS) for pretty cheap - www.pcmforless.com (Or maybe I can find an LT1 edit guy that can do it for free)

Is that the ONLY difference? Right now I have a 92 B4C with a T-56 - I don't need ANY of the 4l60e stuff...I already have the 6 speed installed.

Does this mean I should get the cheaper, $361 Painless harness ?

My car is just begging for an LT1 now...

the harness you buy depends on the year motor you are swapping in, the cheaper one is for like the first few years of the lt1 and the more expensive is for the later ones. call painless and ask but i think they have something on their site that says which one you need as well.

Shouldn't this be governed by which ECM I choose to run ? I actually have a complete 97 LT1 - but I'll run a 95 ECM.

My 92 Z28 has VATS, but I guess where I am confused is if my 92 Z28 with VATS can talk to a 95 LT1 ECM - using the cheaper, $350 92-93 LT1 harness without VATS, instead of the 94-95 $599 LT1 harness.

There's a guy named Bryan Herta who can more cheaply remove VATS from the 95 ECM I choose to run....

Your 92 VATS will not work with your 95 ECM. two different signal produced by Passkey I and II

The 95 ECM will work along as you use the 599$ harness because it works with MAF. The 92-93 harness has different connectors for the ECM that will not plug to your 95 ECM

If you would like to use the the 92-93 harness you'll have to find a ecm from the 92-93 corvette or 93 camaro and convert your engine to speed density instead of MAF.
