V6 to V8 Swap Question

I have the motor and all in and I just need to hook tghe battery and distributor up. Heres the problem... The positive battery cable is hooked to the started and whenever i hook the negative to the battery the starter all of a sudden comes on. And Im using the v6 wiring harness. Is theres something I need to do. It acts like the key is in the on position when i touch the negative to the battery. What gives? I need help!!!

Make sure the positive battery cable on the starter solenoid isn't touching the small start terminal, or any of those wires down there.
