Vortec Heads #906 VS #062 casting

Well which is better!!!

the vortecs are great heads, but you can get the 906 or 062 castings. Supposedly the 062 are better, , because of the exhuast side i guess.

Is this really true??

Has anyone used the 906 appossed to the 062???
Someone enlighten me on the differences here and if i should pay the extra 100 for the 062.

Im not 100% sure but I think the only difference is "some" of the 906 castings came with hardend seats installed and that made a slight loss of flow at low lift. Personally I dont think 062's are worth $100 more.

Chevy Hiperformance Magazine was one of the first publications to "break" that rumour. justinhebert is correct in the reason but since the news, the magazine has been enlightened and has retracted it's statement. There is no difference in flow between the two is the current thinking. I have a set of 062's and a set of Topline 906 replacement castings. If you can afford a couple of hundred more bucks, the Topline's are superior to both factory 062 and 906's. They have a thick deck that has plenty of material to mill to a 50 cc combustion chamber. They flow better. They have the modifications already completed on the valve guides and spring pockets for big cams. I got my new bare set of Topline 906's for $410 including shipping from Yoder racing. I could have assembled for another $200 but have opted for a little bowl and port work.
