For those wondering if a 3800 Series II swap is possible (pics)
Some of you have seen the pics here, others at the cardomain site. Here's what I have so far, about 80% done:
1) How to do the heater hose delete option (yes, those are expandable freeze plugs)
2) WHere to put that stinking PCM (yes, that is a liscence plate
3) Overall frontal shot
4) How the radiator hoses go (yes that is the bottom 3800 hose I'm using for the top)

all stock for now, whenI get back from Iraq, I'm gonna get some goodies for it, mainly new rockers from zzp/intense-racing & some other stuff if wife hasn't claimed all that extra income (read: I might bottle feed it )
I have to get the heater hoses from a dealer, in the mean time, it will work. THere is a bypass hose hidden behind alt you caint see unless hunting for it. The 4th gen V6 radiator has the hose hookups opposite as mine, so I just used my lower hose & straightened it some to reach, and the 4th gen lower to be teh upper hose. THere is a turbo kit & powerdyne kit out there for the 3800 cars, but I like my wife & family too much to get it (now)

And props to all you LT/LS 1 swapers, our harness's are more alike than you think, and, along w/your posts, contributed to helping me track down the gremlins in my swap.
hey now thats a cool swap man i like to see the different ideas everyone comes up with ....my next project hopefully will be a big block third gen if i can find a decent rolling shell to start with anyway keep up the work lookin awsome man
its a series II engine in that car. You spun the intake 180 degrees and it fit OK? do you know off hand if the intake pattern is the same as the seriesI 3.8L? I'm thinkin of making a sort of GN style 3.8L with a series II intake, if it will fit. better than the crappy 85 GN intake I already have.
how bout the motor mounts? and the bellhousing pattern, did you have to modify anything there?
The engine/tranny/pcm & harness are from a 95 Camaro. They got the 3800Series II in late 95 only in Cali. THe Intake is in the same orientation as in the 4th gens. I only had to have the block to mount brackets fabbed up to keep it in place. Tranny is a perfect fit underneath, just think 7004-R, just different name. I did replace the oil pan "gasket", rear main seal, and upper intake gasket while the engine was out.
Belive it or not, the V6 4L60E has the same bellhousing bolt pattern as the 2.8~3.4 bolt pattern. I just choose to use the 4L60E as it came w/teh package and so I wouldn't have to worry about it shifting & such w/the electronics.
Holden makes a rwd equivelent of the L67 (GTP engine), basically the L67 w/the RWD intakes. Also, the rwd & fwd blocks are the same, just different heads between supercharged & N/A applications.
Not sure if the intakes are the same, but www.clubgp.com & www.l67swap.com should have some good info on that. Pretty sure they're different though.
