Hey guys. I've decided to due a Ls1/T56 swap next year. Where would be the best place to purchase it from. Ebay? Auto wreckers? Tell me what you guys think. By the way, I'm from Canada, it's not a big deal if no one knows of any places in Canada, it would just be cheaper. If I had no choice, I could get it from the States.
Best bet is probably a wrecker, just because you can go look at it, check it out, and the like before you fork over any cash. Some of the better wreckers even offer a warranty on used engines. I got a 3mo warranty on the 350 I pulled out of a '79 Z28 for my Camaro.
Ebay would be an easier place to find something, and possibly cheaper (initially anyway), but you are playing with fire with stuff like this. Thats alot of money to spend on something thats used, that you can't even check over first.
Check with mark @ High Perfomance Salvage, inc. . He has low mileage engines and will only sell the motor if he knows it runs. They come complete with harness, accessories, computer, and trans.
