i finally have the money to swap out my 2.8 and was wondering if a 3.8 supercharged engine might be easier or harder to install than a 350. i think itd be pretty cool to have the 3.8 and different. thoughts?
The 3.8 supercharged engines were only in transverse mounted, front wheel drive cars (to the best of my knowledge). While they are pretty cool in those cars, putting one in a rear wheel drive 3rd gen would be an exercise in frustration. You'd have to figure out how to run everything with a FWD ECM, the thermostat housing would be on the back of the engine (no applications to put it in the front, again TTBOMK), you'd have to fabricate engine mounts, etc., etc., etc.
The good news is the bellhousing pattern is the same as your current V6 transmission.
he could do the swap with a SC motor but would not recomend it cause those you'll be changine head gaskets on all the time, plus dude, when you put in a supercharge motor you have to add in a intercooler, just drop in a good ole small block v8 640-700cfm carb and there ya go.
