It will work with these things to know about/work around:
1) The '75 engine has a 2-piece rear main seal. The flexplate (assuming auto - if manual tranny, change "flexplate" to "flywheel" from here on) from your '88 won't fit it. Most likely the flexplate on the '75 engine is too big (168-tooth, 14" diameter). You need a 153-tooth, 12-3/4" diameter flexplate for 2-piece rear main seal crank, which is what the '83-'85 3rd gen V8's had. Get one for that application, and you'll be fine.
2) The '75 engine has the dipstick on the driver's side. The 3rd gen V8 exhaust manifold doesn't let you install the stock '75 dipstick tube. You'll either have to bend/smash the dipstick tube until it fits; get a flexible dipstick like what is available from Lokar; or install headers, which will allow the '75 dipstick tube to fit between the header primary tubes. Guess which option I would recommend.
3) The '75 heads have all of the intake mount bolts at the same angle (90 degrees). The '88 heads have the two center intake mount bolts on each side at 72 degree angle. You can either elongate the mount bolt holes in your '88 base so you can get the bolts in, or get a TPI base for '85-'86 3rd gen, or any Vette TPI base, to mount the base to the '75 heads. But, what is really the best option, since the '75 Monte 350 heads are absolute performance crap, and the engine most likely has dished pistons in it, put your '88 305 TPI heads on the 350 shortblock - the engine will run much better with those heads, they'll bolt right to the block with no issues, they flow better than those old smogger head doorstops, they'll raise compression to a decent level, and your accessories will mount right back to the heads like they came off (although accessory mounting probably won't be an issue with the '75 heads).
4) Not all cams and TPI get along with each other. Most likely the cam in there is mild enough not to cause any problems, but a new cam & lifter set that you know will play well with TPI is a pretty good idea while you're doing everything else.

Re: engine swap question
can buy a lokar or flexible oil stick tube summit racign and such
also you will have to block off plate the fuel pump hole in the block
if you run fuel injection then youll want ot get a camshaft for it that is ground for fuel injection and the ecm so it will run the best potential
there are alot of things to consider and to mull over here
they really changed alot from the 70s to the 80s as far as the engines go and wiring and so on
good luck
