350 Tpi Swap to 383 stroker Tpi HELP!

I have an 88 iroc-z that came with a 350 tpi motor. I have a new motor i am trying to swap into it, and my plan was to retain the stock intake until i could afford a accel superram setup. The new motor consists of heads that are 1.94/1.6 valve size (They are older small block heads) The compression is 10.5:1 The specs on the cam are 290/300 adv duration, 222/230 @.050, .468/.480 with 1.5 rockers, 110lsa.... It has 1.6 rockers so the lift is actually .499/.512 at the valve. I'm going with the taller valve covers for clerance (will this work?) It has an all forged setup externally balanced. Heres where my issue comes up. I went to have a chip written and he tells me it won't run on pump gas. I was planning on going w/ 30lb. injectors and he tells me it is overkill for this setup. I just need some advice on what i need to do next. This is my 1st swap, and though i have researched quite a bit i am still lost when it gets to this point. Any advice is a great help. Thank you,

Brandon

Re: 350 Tpi Swap to 383 stroker Tpi HELP!

im not sure about the injectors...but i can tell you that he is full of it when he says that it wont run on pump gas. he probably thinks it wont run just because it has so much compression. either tell him to shut up and make the chip or take it to another place because he is obivously not well versed in V8 setups.
i am puttin together a 383 soon, with the TPI setup, itll have about 10.5:1 compression, and i know of cars that will run just fine with higher compression. maybe i just have to put in some higher octane gas.

30lbs injectors for a 383 are fine, pump gas is also fine for your engine, you will have to do some tuning for max power but the car will start and run.....
you will run into clearance prob with the valve cover-alternator ,you will have to reclock the rear half of the alt so the pwr stud clears the valve cover(if you are using the stock serpentine setup)
