I would like to Convert my 87' iroc-z from a 305 auto, to a 383 stroked 350 with a T-56 6speed transmission. I read on the forum that i would have to change the injectors to 24lb/hr, for the bigger cid but was wondering what i need for the transmission to bolt up. Any special cross member? or other mods i will need to do.

im doing the same thing with my firebird, but im going carb. as far as the t-56 you will need a special crossmember. check out spohn crossmember. from what ive heard they make good parts. a bunch of companies make the crossmember for the t-56 to install into a 3rd gen car. you will also need to get a speedo converter. im not exactly sure which one. dakota digital sells the converters. but i think there just for electric speedo. not 100% sure on that though. also make sure you get the right clutch parts for that tranny. there are a bunch of threads and there are some websites that tell how to install a t-56, and tell ya what you need. look at the tech articles. there is a good thread in there for the install.

If you get an f-body LT1 T56 set-up, including tranny, bellhousing, hydraulics, & pedals, you'll have almost everything you need. If your 383 is one-piece rear main seal and internally balanced (I'd highly recommend pursuing that), you can use the LT1 flywheel as well.
