i a going to use this plate from jegs http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/60172/10002/-1 to run my 700r4 off it. i am runnin a ram air 3 cam and heads from a 350 gto motor. gona make custum mtr mounts. and am runnin my exhaust through some shortie headers into 3 inch duals.

What do yall think?

im going to pull my 400 out that has a thrown rod, and start fabbin it all up tomoro after work. juss looking for any interest or comments. how much power you think ill get from it. motor is out of early 70's grand am, and heads and cam from like a 70 gto. 300horse u think, runnin a holley duble pumper 850 i believe.

As with any swap, it really all boils down to symmetry and air flow....

Re: 86 gta pontiac 400 swap

i got the sbc out and ended up putting a 455 in the car. got it in a trade, and it is a ram air IV the guy said. it has a mean idle. ran it on stand before i put it in. i made motor mounts of 1/4 inch steel plate, and i made a adapter for the trans, so i can hook my built 700R4 up to it. its sitin in the car right now. just ned to finish welding the mounts to the k member, and wire it up. take cam to shop with me tomoro, and download some pics for yall. i am using the manifolds of the previously mentioned GTO heads, and they clear good. gona make 2.5 true duals off of them, and run the pipes out through the rocker panels of the GFX right infront of the rear tires.
