I have 91 z28 vert 305 with a 700r4 and I found what looks like a good deal for a 350 4 bolt main bored over .30 new pistons, piston rings camshaft and rockers freshly built. Its from a 88 gmc truck was wondering if It is tpi compatible I will use my system off my current car untill I can get the aftermarket stuff. Or is it better to keep it carb right now I'm low on money right now and just want a big motor in my car for the summer commin around. My car is high milage and the 305 just isn't puttin out good power I think the trans is the reason for that.Looking for any kind of advice I'm young and new at this first car.
The TPI Base plate will bolt up to the heads if its from an 88.. 87-92 GM used the same bolt patern on there intake mani's. Just be sure you get a PROM for your ECM from a SD 350 car, and a 350 knock sensor. I would think about getting yourself a pair of 24# injectors to make it all right.
My mistake I was under the impression it was a carb engine but it is fuel injected. I will be using my camaro headers, as far as changing the injectors is it better to put higher flowing injectors now before it goes in even though its gonna be running stock for a lil while. Thanks for the advice and tips really appreciate it. I feel so lucky that it's a 88 engine and is not angled the same way as the older ones. What other parts will I have to change to get this engine in i heard maybe the steering pump will need to be changed.
Do I need to get this knock sensor from original engine or just buy one from a autoparts store. I think I am better off using the heads on the 350 engine they have been redone.I wasn't sure that I would be able to use these parts you guys really helped me out a lot now I can get some serious power outta my car.
Use everything from the 305 except the knock sensor.
i am planing to do a 305 tpi to a 350 tpi swap what can i use off the 305 and what do i have to replace for the 350 and also any suggestion where to get a long block 350tpi
