Howdy, folks!
I have an 1988 Camaro Coupe that originally had a 305. I'm swapping in a 383 and going to carb.
My engine is almost all done, but I just notice a possible clearance issue:
I've been building this engine up for a while now, and I started by buying an engine block from a local machine shop. The new 350 engine block (coded
TPK, and seems to come from a 1989 truck) has the motor mounts all the way towards the from of the block.
By my measurements, it doesn't look like this engine will fit on the stock V8 motor mounts - it ends up being mounted too far to the back of the engine compartment (less than 0" of clearance between the back of the block and the firewall).
Am I missing something, or is this a common setup that would require different motor mounts? I swear - I searched around the threads here and other places, and all I see are references to LSX engine swaps...
Thanks in advance for the advice!
