RS V6 to a 350

Ok, i have a 90 RS V6 camaro that i bought last summer and i drove it through the fall and put it away for the winter and i also bought an 81 z28 that had a 350. i took the 350 out of the 81 and stripped it down to the block and plan to rebuild it and swap it out with the v6 thats in my RS. so far i've looked at a cam with the valve lift at .488 intake and .510 exhaust with an rpm range of 1500-6500 and a matching intake with the same rpm range. i also already have an intake with a range of idle-5500rpm but i want more of a mid range-top end car but if it would be better to buy everything according to that intake let me know. i also plan on using the stock heads and just porting them out because im on a low budget. i don't really know much about gears or the rear end so any help in that department would be greatfully appreciated. i just turned 16 in october so im new at this engine stuff as most of you can probably already tell. thanks.

Get the casting #'s off of the heads. My guess is you'll find the last 3 digits are 882 or 624 (or something similar). If that is the case, they really aren't going to benefit from porting (beyond basic bowl clean-up) and won't work well with that much cam. A Performer intake and a cam with a 5500 RPM max powerband would be more appropriate.

Re: RS V6 to a 350

I was going to go beyond the basic proting and polishing and go for oversized valves. (Possible 2.02") But considering the cam I have I'm not sure if that is the right thing to do. I also would like to know what would happen if I put over-ratioed rocker arms on it. Let me know what you think and what ratios I should use. Also, since its not too nasty of a cam I would like to know the best compression to run. JRT 9.5:1 is the current set im lookin' at.
Thanks.
