I have tried to search but have came up empty .. I remember reading a long wile back where someone tried to take a stock roller 305 and install a flat tappet cam what mods need to be done if at all possible any help to link's or information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Chris Clean performance.
No mods required... just take out the roller lifter stuff... the retainer plate, the lifters, spider, short pushrods... replace with flat tappet stuff.
Why would you want to do this though? You'd be taking a HUGE step backwards....?
thank you . this is not for a sport's car it's going in a 87 tbi chevy truck just need a good cheap build .. the roller lifter's are missing although the rest is there.

I see.. well, GM did use the same block for both the roller cam engines (like the Camaro) and the flat tappet engines (like trucks) so it will all work just fine.
You can get a set of good used GM roller lifters for cheap though. I would go that route. Its just a much better setup.
