So I got my 406 short block from the engine shop today. I plan on putting my Brodix 200IK head on tomorrow. I have a comp cam XE 284 cam in the engine its a hydrolic flat tappet. I was looking over the cam info and it it alittle confused on a breakin process. It says I have to remove one of the springs per valve if I have duel springs for breakin. at first when i looked at the heads and spring I was thinking I had duel springs, but know I'm thinking the inner spring may in fact be a "Spring Damper" The outer spring looks like a normal coil spring but the inner one spring looks more like a coil made of heavy sheet metal not a round coil. So is that a "Duel Spring" or a "Spring Damper"??? And if its just a damper coil can I leave it in for the Engine break-in???

If you happen to have any ARP thread lube, slathering that over the lobes and bottoms of the lifters is a great break-in aid.
I'm sure others will tell you to use GM EOS and Delovac oil. Just use a pertroleum (non-synthetic) oil, a diesel oil rated for CI-4+ would be fine, as it will have the ZDDP that helps prevent sliding wear.
Awesome, thanks.. I really didnt want to adj valve lash once for breakin with the inner "spring damper " removed becuase I was thinking it was "duel springs" then reinstalling them after breakin and adj all over again.. If I'm understanding you correctly, your sayn I have single spring I can leave the "spring dampers" in for breaking-in?
So I spoke with Brodix and they told me the valve springs on my heads are for a roller cam CC 987. I called Summit and they looked up the cam I'm running XE 284 and told me to use the CC 986 spring which is a duel spring. I ordered them so it looks like I'll have to remove the inner spring for breakin then reinstall the inner spring.
